The most beautiful beaches of Salento

Dear readers,

Summer is just around the corner and we can’t wait to recommend some of the most beautiful beaches in Salento for your summer holidays.

The region offers a wide variety of beaches, from the Adriatic coast to the Ionian coast, from quiet bays to more equipped beaches.

Here are some of our favorite Salento beaches for summer 2025:

Bay of the Turks – Otranto:

Located on the Adriatic coast, this beach features an enchanting bay with crystal-clear waters and fine sand. Here, you can enjoy a peaceful and relaxing atmosphere.

The Baia dei Turchi, a few kilometers north of Otranto, is the place where, according to tradition, Turkish warriors landed during the 15th-century siege of the city of Otranto (Battle of Otranto). Sandy and pristine, the bay is part of the prized Alimini Lakes protected oasis, one of the most important ecosystems in Salento and Puglia.

Punta Prosciutto – Porto Cesareo:

Located on the Ionian coast, this beach is considered one of the most beautiful in Puglia. Featuring a long stretch of white sand and crystal-clear waters, Punta Prosciutto is an ideal destination for those seeking a relaxing seaside holiday.

Punta Prosciutto is a beach with crystal-clear water that allows you to walk for many meters towards deeper waters.

Bear Tower – Melendugno:

Located on the Adriatic coast, this beach features a beautiful cliff overlooking the sea and a long stretch of fine sand. Torre dell’Orso is an ideal destination for snorkeling and scuba diving enthusiasts.

Famous for its fine silver sand and its beach resorts, Torre dell'Orso boasts particularly clear waters thanks to the currents of the Strait of Otranto. Thanks to this characteristic, the town is popular with tourists in the summer and has been awarded the European Blue Flag several times for its transparency and cleanliness.

Pescoluse (the Maldives of Salento) – Hello:

Located on the Ionian coast, this beach is characterized by fine white sand and crystal-clear waters, earning it the nickname “Maldives of Salento.” Pescoluse is an ideal destination for families with children.

The coastline is low and sandy, characterized by dunes behind it. The beach is unique for its fine, pale sand, the finest in Salento. The south-facing coastline, and its unique location allows Pescoluse to enjoy crystal-clear water all year round. Not far from the coast are several karst caves. The area is also important from an archaeological perspective due to the presence of a dolmen and a tomb dating back to 2500 BC.

Porto Badisco – Otranto:

Located on the Adriatic coast, this beach features a beautiful cove and crystal-clear water. Porto Badisco is an ideal destination for those seeking a quiet, uncrowded beach.
