Every year, Cutrofiano, one of Salento’s most charming villages, hosts the Ceramics Exhibition, an event celebrating a centuries-old tradition of artisanal mastery and artistic beauty. This event, one of the region’s most anticipated, combines culture, creativity, and history, offering visitors the opportunity to immerse themselves in the heart of Salento’s artisanal tradition.
Cutrofiano has been known for centuries for its production of high-quality ceramics and terracotta. The village’s very name, derived from the Latin “cutrubi” (clay vases), testifies to its ancient connection to this tradition. Here, the art of ceramics is not just a craft, but a legacy passed down from generation to generation.
From August 8th to 18th, the entire historic center, the Ceramics Museum, the Ducal Palace, and the surrounding areas will host the Cutrofianese Ceramics Festival. Master craftsmen, both local and international, will be present, along with art and craft exhibitions.
